Julia Child, born August 15, 1912 in California, died August 13, 2004, was a renowned American chef and cookbook author.
Her focus was on the classic French cuisine, with great emphasis on quality and less reference to the costs.
Child also became very famous as a TV chef, and was of great importance to raise the culinary consciousness in the U.S. in 1970's and 1980's.
