Muhammad Mursi Isa al-Ayyat, born August 20, 1951 at Ash-Sharqiyya, is an Egyptian politician and President of Egypt since 30 June 2012. He was the leader of the Freedom and Justice Party, a party founded by the Muslim Brotherhood after the Egyptian revolution in 2011, from 30 April 2012 until 24 June 2012 when he was declared the winner of the presidential election.
Morsi was declared unseated on 3 July 2013 by a council consisting of defence minister Abdul Fatah Khalil Al-Sisi, Mohamed ElBaradei, the Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed el-Tayeb, and Coptic Pope Tawadros
